Nikolaos Papanikos
CEO (Partner)
Naval architect with multiple expertise in all elements of Maritime,
including the Emissions Trading Systems. An active extraordinary
member of the Board of Directors in a Fintech Peer-to-Peer (P2P)
European Company. Two years previous Board of Directors position in
a top Classification Society (DNV). Environmental Policy, Carbon
Trading, and EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
professional in Greece and abroad, consulting banks, mutual funds,
and other investments/equity firms mainly in the US and Canada.
Technical and Compliance Directorship positions in Greek Ship
Management/Owning Companies. Previous consultancy role in Union of
Greek Shipowners (UGS). Member of various carbon credits/offsets and
EUETS Roundtables and Organizations. Twenty years of experience in
vessel inspections, vessels, and company auditing, as well as Flag
Liaison Officer for the Greek Flag Administration in the same top
Classification Society.
Alexandros is a highly motivated Naval Architect and Marine Engineer
who thrives on the dynamism of the Maritime Industry and the
countless opportunities it offers to improve standards and ensure a
safer working environment for seafarers, as well as environmental
protection.
Beginning in 2001, Alexandros assumed a pivotal role in the
management of RO-RO, General Cargo, and Tanker vessels. In 2007, he
expanded his expertise to encompass policies and procedures
pertaining to Ship to Ship transfer operations. Currently, within
DYNAMARINe, Alexandros actively contributes to the commercial
aspects and the development of products and services. Additionally,
he holds certifications as an Instructor-Trainer from ABS and is a
qualified ISM and ISPS auditor, accredited by DNV.
Alex Glykas is the (co-)author or editor of several academic papers,
best practice guidelines, and three books.
George has a MEng in Electrical and Computer Sciences along with a
MSc in Engineering Management from Duke University in USA. He has
been involved in the shipping services since 2012 and has
participated in numerous projects related to ship performance and
energy efficiency. His experience involves the development of a
specialized energy monitoring software, comprehensive ship energy
analysis and emission calculations to serve industry requirements.
Also, involvement in various consulting services, frequent
communication with clients and risk analysis for shipping
operations. Since 2012 he is a member of the Global Association of
Risk professionals and holder of the Energy Risk Professional
certification.
Currently an investment, financing, and commodities expert
consultant, with previous roles as Special Advisor to the General
Secretary of the Decentralized Administration of the Aegean,
auditing projects wealth and balance sheets of the supervised
regional and local authorities.
Noncurrent Board of Director memberships in KYROS Appraisal S.A. as
well as KYROS AEED S.A. in which he served as BoD Vice-president.
Previous experience as a Chartered Accountant in one of the “Big
Four” Auditing/Accounting firms.
With over a decade in HR, Athina excels in creating dynamic work
environments. Starting by working as an environmental engineer in
renewable sector, she went through a lot of challenges to handle
teams and projects. Through the years Athina recognized her true
power to work with people and find ways to improve their
performance. As HR manager in various companies she mastered talent
acquisition strategies, fostering exponential company growth. Later
she spearheaded performance management, elevating engagement by 20%.
Currently at ETSdesk, Athina revamped HR policies, prioritizing
diversity and inclusion. Her expertise spans talent acquisition,
performance management, and organizational development.
Experienced in Financial Institutions, Banking and Fintech sector
with more than 25 years in multiple departments. Diversified
knowledge and technical skills obtained in all sections of fintech
and e-payments sector (SWIFT, Credit Cards, Cash Management,
E-Commerce, Crypto, P2P). Part of the core team that developed and
implemented the relevant infrastructure of one of the main fin-tech
companies/banks in Greece.
Despoina Vourlidi is the founder and Managing Director of WCS. She
holds a BA in Accounting and Business and an MBA in International
Financial Management from Sunderland University (UK). With a
background in accounting and experience at Suncrest Surrounds Ltd.,
AMT Insurance Brokers, and MARPO LTD, she co-founded WCS Hellas in
2005 and later established WCS Ltd. in 2010, specializing in
Cathodic Protection services for the shipping industry. In 2019, she
completed an LLM in Maritime Law, and this book on “Ship to Ship
Transfer Operations” is a result of her dissertation, aiming to
raise awareness and ensure secure cargo transshipment.
